Winning the Premier League is more troublesome than lifting the Champions League, says Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, who could have a definitive say in the title race when his side host Liverpool.
Liverpool could cut Manchester City's lead at the Premier League culmination to simply a point by wining at Southampton on Tuesday, after Pep Guardiola's team were held to a 2-2 draw at West Ham on Sunday.
Triumph over Southampton, who have won only one of their last 10 league games, would keep Jürgen Klopp's side in the chase after an extraordinary quadruple. A shock win for Southampton would hand the title to City.
Having previously gotten the EFL Cup and FA Cup, both on a penalty against Chelsea in the final, Liverpool likewise have the Champions League final against Real Madrid on May 28 in Paris to fight with.
Furthermore, Hasenhuttl, talking at a pre-match news meeting on Monday, named the Premier League as the most difficult of titles to win.
"We as a whole know Jürgen and how solid he is, and you should rest assured that he doesn't give up the opportunity for winning the league, without a doubt, said Hasenhuttl.
"This is as yet the title that is the most countable for everyone, since it's the hardest to get. For me, it's significantly more enthusiastically to be on the bright side of 38 games in the Premier League reliably on the top than to win the Champions League sometimes.
"Regardless of whether he [Klopp] says it's extreme for him to go as far as four, I realize he will do all that towin this match on Tuesday to allow himself an opportunity on the final day."
